IT Specialist
Public Media Connect—CET and ThinkTV—the regional, non-profit media/broadcasting organization serving the Greater Cincinnati and Dayton communities seeks qualified applicants for the position of IT Specialist.
The IT Specialist will work under the general supervision of the IT Director in support of this two location organization utilizing various networks and digital infrastructures. Position will support daily operations and the installation and troubleshooting of servers,

The candidate filling this position will be required to setup and configure desktop and laptop equipment using Windows and Mac operating systems, as well as install and configure Windows based servers. VLAN and remote access experience preferred. Strong troubleshooting capabilities are absolutely essential.

The IT Specialist will work directly with the IT Director and other technical staff. This person must be a team player with ability to multi-task, accurately follow directions, work closely and cooperatively with staff, and learn quickly. MCSE and other Microsoft or Cisco certifications would be helpful.
The candidate hired will also be required to provide 24 hour on-call coverage on occasion and be able and willing to travel as needed during normal business hours between our station locations in downtown Cincinnati and downtown Dayton. The person hired ideally would live in or south of Dayton and be able to call our Dayton location their “home base” but could reside anywhere between Cincinnati and Dayton.

Manager of Community Events
ThinkTV, Dayton, Ohio’s public television station seeks a dynamic self-motivated person residing in the Greater Dayton area to manage their community based events, including those related to fund raising. Two of the most prominent events are ThinkTV’s GreatTVAuction and the annual Speaking of Women’s Health® conference.
This position requires a candidate who can be a hands-on manager, willing to accept lots of responsibility, likes a diversity of tasks and challenges, doesn’t mind working more than a normal 40 hour week, and embraces the missions of non-profit entities like ThinkTV.
A sampling of the specific duties of this position are as follows:
1. Trains, supervises and works with volunteers and staff supporting the annual GreatTVAuction
2. Scripts the on-air presentation of Auction merchandise
3. Solicits items for the Auction
4. Handles Auction promotion
5. Collects, tracks and warehouses Auction items to be sold
6. Manages the Auction data system
7. Develops Auction budget
8. Facilitates Auction meetings
9. Serves as primary liaison between ThinkTV and the National Speaking of Women’s Health Foundation, Steering Committee and Dayton Convention Center
10. Creates all printed materials for the Speaking of Women’s Health Conference (SWHC)
11. Maintains website information for SWHC
12. Facilitator for all speakers and sponsors at SWHC
13. Insures that all needs of the SWHC are met
14. Works with staff to create, print, cut and mail print media for all community events
15. Coordinates and implements staff and volunteer positions for community events
16. Oversees all service and rental needs for community events.
Qualifications:
· Strong team building skills
· Prior management experience
· Ability to work smoothly with volunteers of varied personalities and skills
· Exceptional organizational skills
· High degree of computer literacy in Excel, Word, and Access databases and macros (absolutely must have)
· Skills in sales and fundraising strongly preferred
· Event planning skills/experience highly desirable.

Chief Technology Officer
Public Media Connect, the regional public media/television organization formed by CET in Cincinnati and ThinkTV in Dayton, Ohio, seek applicants for its opening for a Chief Technology Officer, a Senior Management position reporting directly to the President. This is a fully “hands-on” position with direct responsibility for leading, managing, and designing Broadcast Engineering, MIS/IT, Web, and other communications and distribution systems. The CTO will be tasked with assuring optimal program distribution, technical operational excellence and efficiencies, and the organization’s technical capability as related to its two interconnected full-service facilities, three broadcast stations, and other technology based systems.
Requirements for this position include a Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate technical discipline and extensive, demonstrated technical management experience in the areas listed above. On-line engineering experience in broadcast television with public media background strongly preferred. Advanced degree and/or certifications desirable. Must have broad based knowledge of current broadcast, production, and IT technologies, systems and trends. Ability to communicate complex technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences is essential. Experience in preparing and monitoring budgets and planning for capital improvements also required. Additionally, this person will be expected to willingly and regularly travel between PMC locations to insure consistent standards of operation, excellence in staff performance, and adequate customer service to all employees and external entities.
