PBS line-up looks at gun control, the path to violence

Thursday, February 14, 2013 - 16:30

In the wake of the tragedy in Newtown, PBS has put together a line-up of complimentary programs to examine the life of Adam Lanza, the evolution of guns in the United States, the mind of a killer and the Safe School Initiative.

Here’s the run-down:

After Newtown: Guns in America

Tues., 2/19/13 – 8pm on ThinkTV16 and CET
Guns USA will trace the evolution of guns in America, their inextricable link to violence, and the clash of cultures that reflect competing visions of our national identity.

FRONTLINE: Raising Adam Lanza
Tues., 2/19/13 - 10pm on ThinkTV16 and CET
In the wake of the mass killings at Sandy Hook Elementary School, FRONTLINE investigates a young man and the town he changes forever.

NOVA: Mind of a Rampage Killer
Wed., 2/20/13 - 9pm on ThinkTV16 and CET
As the nation tries to understand the tragic events at Newtown, NOVA separates the fact from fiction, investigating new theories that the most destructive rampage killers are driven most of all, not by the urge to kill, but the wish to die.

Path to Violence
Wed., 2/20/13 - 10pm on ThinkTV16 and CET
The Path to Violence tells the story of a powerfully effective Secret Service program - the Safe School Initiative - that's helped schools detect problem behavior in advance. Yet, despite the progress made, recent attacks reveal a gaping hole in our safety net.
