From Golden Girls to Hot in Cleveland and Snickers commercials to hilarious cameos, Betty White is a beacon of entertainment. Now we’re excited to celebrate her 80th anniversary in show businesses with a new PBS special – Betty White: First Lady of Television.

Betty White: The First Lady of Television takes a warm look at the life and career of the beloved television and film star, who happens to be celebrating the longest career in the history of television. This new special features performance footage from throughout her career as well as a look into her more personal moments at home and interacting with her close friends – including a 900-pound grizzly bear. The film features Valerie Bertinelli, Georgia Engel, Tina Fey, Valerie Harper, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Gavin Macleod, Carl Reiner, Ryan Reynolds, Tom Sullivan, Alex Trebek and many more.

“Betty White has created some of the most memorable characters in television history. This new special reveals that she’s been a ground breaking pioneer since her earliest days in the fledging museum both in front of and behind the camera. Her talent and creativity are timeless, transcending generations and cementing her legacy with each passing decade. She is truly one of a kind.” Jerry Liwanag, Vice President of Fundraising Programming at PBS, said in a press release.

Acclaimed for her roles as Sue Ann on The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Rose on Golden Girls, and Elka on Hot in Cleveland, Betty White has had one of the brightest careers Hollywood has ever seen. White is a pioneer of the industry as she is the first woman to produce a national TV show, the first woman to star in a sitcom, and the first woman to be nominated for an Emmy Award.
