We’re excited to tell you about the launch of our new PBS Nerd project at Public Media Connect, CET and ThinkTV! We are actually a PILOT station for this cool new campaign and, although we’re starting the project at CET, anyone can get involved!
Think of this like a walk-a-thon. You create a campaign to celebrate your own personal nerdom – PBS or not – and then encourage your friends and family to help you raise money for public television through social media. We think this is going to be a lot of fun AND YOU CAN EARN SWAG. That’s right! Our fundraisers will earn PBS Nerd T-shirts, our top fundraisers will win sweatshirts and our number one fundraiser will be brought in for a VIP tour of the station and have the opportunity to record an on-air spot telling the world why you love CET and PBS!
If you’re interested in being a PBS Nerd, visit our Nerd website at https://cet.pbsnerd.org/ and create a campaign. And! Once you register as a PBS Nerd, you’re invited to come to our PBS Nerd Kickoff Event and PBS Trivia Night at Queen City Radio bar across the street from our studio on Central Parkway! The event is from 5:30pm to 7:30pm Thursday, January 26, and it’s going to fill up fast! After you’ve registered as a PBS Nerd and created your challenge, email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 513-345-6532 to let us know that you’ll be joining us for the kickoff party! Please note that Queen City Radio is a bar and you must be 21 to enter
