Welcome to ThinkTV’s 2008 GreatTVAuction! This fundraiser benefiting the ThinkTVNetwork airs April 7-12, 2008 from 6-11 P.M. Monday through Thursday, 6-midnight on Friday and 4-midnight on Saturday.
You can bid on-line now! On-line bids are automatically updated, and will be accepted through the close of the Auction on April 12th. You may choose to watch the Auction on both ThinkTV16 and ThinkTV14 while bidding. Opening bids on all auction items begin at approximately 35% of donor value.
Whether you’re a returning bidder or this is your first time participating on-line with the GreatTVAuction, you’ll be bound to notice how easy it is to find what you’re looking for. This year, DaytonDailyNews.com, our online partner, will feature on-line pre-promotional video of all items featured on the Super Board ($2,500+) along with three pictures of each item and the Big Board ($1,000-$1,999) will have one picture of each item. All major gifts listed including the Tonight Board ($500-$999) will have complete descriptions.
If you’re viewing these pages on thinktv.org you will see that all of our major gifts are sorted by category, i.e. Advertising, Jewelry, Tools, Travel, etc., with the largest retail valued items starting each category.
On both sites you will find a list of General Merchandise over $500 donors. These items will be available for bid only during the televised Auction, April 7-12, 2008. You can also view Pick-Up & Pay Hours, Underwriters, Cash, Inkind and Food Contributors, Computerized Board Sponsors, and Overbid Incentives. We’re even featuring information on how your company can reap the promotional benefits of becoming a part of the GreatTVAuction.
Once the Auction airs on television (ThinkTV16 and ThinkTV14), you may want to tune in to watch your bids simultaneously. Here is how it works – once you place a bid on-line, the volunteers post your bid on the written boards in the studios. You can watch the television for updates of your bids and continue if you so choose. Keep in mind, there are 35 phones in the studios taking phone bids at the same time you are bidding on-line, so you want to bid high and bid fast! The high bidder will receive a confirmation call within two hours after the item is sold.
The GreatTVAuction is celebrating 31 years as a premier event in the Miami Valley. This website exists to allow the user to participate in our televised event, via another media. All proceeds from the televised fund-raising event directly benefit the ThinkTVNetwork. Thousands of volunteers make this event happen. Donors from national, regional and local corporations contribute items for auction and sponsorship dollars to pay for this event.
