Place:  Dayton History’s—Carillon Historical Park

For over 25 years, The Woodwright Shop and PBS celebrity Roy Underhill has shared his love for American woodcraft with America.    ThinkTV, in partnership with Dayton History, is bringing Roy Underhill to Carillon Historical Park on October 27th to kick off the Newcom Tavern Preservation Project.  At over 200 years old and after enduring two moves, Newcom Tavern is in need of protective work that will safeguard this landmark for generations to come. 

Come to Carillon Historical Park on Saturday, October 27th to see Roy in action during two woodworking demonstrations in front of Newcom Tavern at 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.  Roy will demonstrate the use of early American hand tools in an interactive and entertaining format.  Book signings will follow each 45-minute demonstration in the Kettering Family Education Center. 

Carillon Historical Park members will be admitted at no charge.  If you are not a member you may apply for membership or pay a one-day only admission fee.


ThinkTV is pleased to announce its collaboration with Jr. League of Dayton and Times Community Newspapers for the 2007-2008 Town Hall Lecture Series. . . held at the Schuster Center on Thursday mornings at 10:00 a.m.    This year’s speakers will take you to new worlds or revisit old.  They will give you information on current interests or inspire a passion for something new…And, your ticket purchase provides funding for programs with community-wide impact!

October 11—Dr. Loretta Long, Susan from Sesame Street, speaks about her life as a nurse, educator and consultant.

November 7--Rick Steves will be our special guest at a Meet & Greet reception at ThinkTV at 6 p.m. To join us, please call Ame at 937-220-1612 to make your reservation before November 1, as space is very limited.
November 8—Rick Steves talks of his world travels and teaches you how to travel wisely.

April 3, 2008--The Keno Brothers from Antiques Roadshow and Find! will teach you tricks of the antique trade in a fun and humorous presentation.
May 15, 2008—Jane Bryant Quinn, one of the 25 most influential women, will speak on money management and personal finance.

Speaking of Women's Health 2007

Speaking of Women’s Health, a national conference designed to educate and entertain women in the issues of health, education and personal safety is hosted by ThinkTV. The 2007 conference was held on September 15, 2007.
