Speaking of Women’s Health’s mission is to “educate women to make informed decisions about their health, well-being and personal safety.” The 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization educates and empowers women nationwide through more than 50 conferences and events across the country; its health programs, Universal SistersTM, Hablando de la Salud de la MujerTM and Growing Together Connecting for LifeTM; community events and education centers with free health brochures in Wal-Mart stores nationwide; a free quarterly newsletter, a Web site and a television show, “Lifetime’s Speaking of Women’s Health.”
Speaking of Women’s Health understands the unique psychology of women. Women want up-to-date information from credible experts in a fun and entertaining way. Our events and outreach programs provide women with the information they want to hear, in a way they want to hear it.
Speaking of Women’s Health hosts more than 50 events in 40 cities across the country educating and empowering women in a pampering environment. The National Foundation works with community hospitals and organizations to educate women at a grassroots level, and reinvests in women’s health programs through Community Investment Grants.
In 2001, Speaking of Women’s Health launched Universal Sisters, a program with a proactive approach to preventive health care and to educate African-American women to take charge of their health. Universal Sisters has spread across the country with conferences in multiple cities.
Speaking of Women’s Health also launched a health program for Hispanic women in the fall of 2003, Hablando de la Salud de la Mujer, Spanish for “Speaking of Women’s Health.” This program addresses the specific health concerns of Hispanic women and their families, presented in Spanish with headset interpretation in English available.
Speaking of Women’s Health is generously supported by Local, Regional and National Sponsors who share in our mission.
In all that we do, Speaking of Women’s Health encourages women to live its motto,
“Be Strong. Be Healthy. Be in Charge.”
