Early Learning Workshop Partners

WORKSHOP SCHEDULE FOR CHILD CARE PROVIDERS 2015-2016

Our Mission is to empower and engage child care providers by providing top-notch training with hands-on activities and developmentally appropriate resources to better the lives of children and families in our area. Providers will have the materials and ideas to put into practice current child development theories. Handouts include picture books, resource books, and educational materials. Literacy Experiences: Using PBS Resources – 2 hours
Engage young children and the adults who care for them in interactive literacy skills using both digital and hands-on activities. DVD and storybooks included.

Building Partnerships Between Families and Early Childhood Professionals- 2 hours
Incorporate families' knowledge of their children in programming decisions. Practice effectively communicating with parents about sensitive topics.

Encouraging Language Development in Infants and Toddlers – 2 hours
Use the environment as well as activities to encourage language development in the very youngest children. Use specific activities to include parents in the learning and teaching of language. This includes story books for your library.

Let's Get WILD: Engaging Children Through Nature – 3Hours
Use Growing Up Wild curriculum and PBS resources to engage children in science, math, literacy, music and movement. Learn while having hands-on fun.

Important Note:

**Ohio Approved is the new Step Up Approved. It includes all Step Up requirements as well as Ohio Dept. of Education requirements. As of July 1, 2017, all providers needing to fulfill Step Up requirements for Star rating will need to get Ohio Approved hours.

How do I schedule a station tour for my classroom?

We conduct station tours Monday through Friday between 9am and 5pm.  If you would like to set up a station tour or request a special tour date or time please call (937) 220-1708 or email: dthevenin@thinktv.org.

ThinkTV’s Ready to Learn service is designed to help young children become effective learners.  Use “View, Read, Do” to extend your child’s television learning.

What is the PBS Kids Writers Contest?

  

A.
