Otterbein Residents Prove You’re Never Too Old for Adventure

Ten Otterbein residents took to the tree tops at Ozone Zipline Adventures at Camp Kern for their first zip line experience.  The residents who went on the trip make up the Otterbein Adventure Club, which is a newly founded club for thrill seeking members of the Otterbein community.

The group did the “Sample Course” which included five zip lines.  Zip lining is when, after climbing several stories high to a platform, a rider is strapped into a harness and hooked onto a cable. The rider then steps off the platform into the air and rides the cable to the other platform. The lines were navigated by all and each one presented a different challenge, however, as the seniors got the hang of the lines things got easier.  The group commented that one of the most difficult parts was the first step off the platform into thin air.

“We were told by our lead guide that we were the only senior group he had ever known to come through Ozone and zip line,” said Stacy Black, Otterbein Activity Coordinator.

Many of the residents want to continue zip lining and have requested that the group return and take on the next level up!
