In an era when it seems like half the shows on television are crime dramas or based in a police station, most people are familiar with words like crime scene investigation, fingerprints, DNA evidence and so forth. But where did using evidence like we do today really come from? Like so many great ideas, it came from literature. Sherlock to be exact.
Christmas is a magical time for many all over the world – and the same was true for the soldiers fighting in World War I in 1914. For one evening on December 24, 1914, French, German and Scottish soldiers laid down their arms and joined in a spontaneous celebration reflecting the peace, fellowship and humanity of the season.
This class will provide youth planning to babysit with the knowledge and skills necessary to safely and responsibly care for children and infants. This training will help participants to develop leadership skills, learn how to develop a babysitting business, keep themselves and others safe, help children behave and learn about child care and basic first aid. The recommended age for this course is 11 – 15 years old.
This course will help participants recognize and respond appropriately to cardiac and breathing emergencies. The course teaches skills that participants need to know to give immediate care to a suddenly injured or ill person until more advanced medical personnel arrive and take over. Students who successfully complete this course will receive certificates for Standard First Aid with CPR/AED - Adult which are valid for 2 years.
