2017 PBS KIDS Writers & Illustrators Contest
Unforgettable characters, exciting plots, and expressive illustrations make the difference between a good story and a great one. The PBS KIDS Writers & Illustrators Contest offers children in Kindergarten through Third Grade an opportunity to build critical literacy skills by creating their own stories.
The PBS KIDS Writers & Illustrators Contest is a local contest—covering Dayton/Springfield and the Miami Valley — designed to promote hands-on, active learning. Students create their own stories and illustrations and submit their original work. The entry deadline is March 17, 2017. Judging is planned for April. Winners will be notified, and their names and stories will be posted on thinktv.org.
All other entries will be returned by May 31st. Entrants may also pick up their books at ThinkTV. Each entrant will receive a certificate of participation, with 1st and 2nd place in each grade level receiving additional prizes, to be determined at a later date.
ThinkTV encourages all students in our viewing area, Kindergarten through Third Grade, to participate. See links below for complete Contest Rules , Official Entry Form, and other resources to assist in writing your story.
