2017-2018 PBS KIDS Writers & Illustrators Contest!
Unforgettable characters, exciting plots, and expressive illustrations make the difference between a good story and a great one. The PBS KIDS Writers & Illustrators Contest offers children in Kindergarten through Third Grade an opportunity to build critical literacy skills by creating their own stories.
The PBS KIDS Writers & Illustrators Contest is a local contest for children in the ThinkTV viewing area encompassing Dayton, Springfield and the Miami Valley. The Contest is designed to promote hands-on, active learning. Students create their own stories and illustrations and submit their original work. Entrys are no longer accepted; stayed tuned for the winning stories.
Each entrant will receive a certificate, a children’s book and an invitation to a reception at the Main Branch of the Dayton Metro Library. 1st, 2ndand 3rd place winners in each grade level will also receive:
• a digitized version of their story shared on thinktv.org
• a bound collection of all winning stories
• a gift certificate to a local bookstore
